Courage to Lead: Facing Down the Fear Factor

A season ended. Someone you leaned on is gone, and now it's on you.
God's word for that moment is the same one He gave Joshua: be strong and courageous.
Moses was dead. The man Joshua followed for 40 years was gone, and leading God's people into the promised land now depended on him. In this sermon from Joshua 1:1-9, Pastor Lonnie Clinkscale walks through three ways to face down fear: face change with courage, follow the calling with confidence, and focus on God's commands with consistency.
He also shares his own testimony. As a boy he couldn't read, couldn't write, and couldn't spell his own first name. Then one day in class he heard God say, "Open up your mouth. Don't fear." If you're walking through a hard change, stepping into something new, or tired of fear calling the shots, this message is a reminder that the presence of fear doesn't mean the absence of God.
Scripture: Joshua 1:1-9 (NIV), with references to the twelve spies in Numbers 13 to 14.
